Golden Retriever Gin
£6.50 / £35.00Over the past six years, Persie Distillery has raised more than £30,000 for animal welfare. Every year the team chooses one or two new charities for a dedicated fundraising endeavour. We create a gin to reflect a particular cause and commit to donating upwards of £500 with the final amount based on the number of bottle sales.
Golden Retriever Gin is the latest in the Persie Charity Collection! This special bottling is in collaboration with Canine Partners, who are celebrating 35 years of partnering physically disabled people with assistance dogs to bring greater independence and quality of life.
Simon, Persie Head Honcho Distiller and MD, explains why they opted for an assistance dog charity: “We are determined that our Charity Collection gins are not just about making a donation – they are about making a difference. Canine Partners takes just 18 months to train assistance dogs to manage everyday tasks which are difficult, painful or impossible for individuals with a physical disability. These guys are actively transforming lives and helping people have a better future. That’s inspirational.”

The name of the new gin was fairly obvious as Golden Retrievers are one of the breeds most suited to being an assistance dog. And anyone who knows a Golden will understand why the essence of the breed has been captured with a sweet and warming profile! There are faint notes of Madagascan vanilla on the nose, a hint of almond and a gingerbread finish so that the heart of the gin is brimming with cosiness.

Garnish with a wedge of orange or piece of honeycomb.*The gin is nut-free and vegan. The recipe was inspired by the distillery’s popular Old Tom gin which has been going since 2016.

Golden Retriever Gin follows the launch of Labrador Gin, Spaniel Gin and Dachshund Gin Liqueur in 2018, with each bottle sold raising funds for Scottish dog rescue charity PADS. Pusscat Vodka launched in 2020 as a fundraiser for Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home. The limited edition Charity Collection has featured Terrier Gin for Terrier SOS (2022), Whippet Gin for JR Whippet Rescue (2023) and Unbridled Gin for World Horse Welfare (2024). Each Charity Collection spirit has raised between £1,000 and £5,000 for the nominated charity.

Animal welfare is a cause close to our hearts so we are hugely enthusiastic (you might say we are full of unbridled excitement!) about creating a bespoke spirit to raise much-needed funds to support the fantastic work at World Horse Welfare.
It is the only charity that seeks to improve the lives of all equids (horses, ponies, donkeys and mules), whatever the nature of their relationship with humankind. World Horse Welfare’s vision is a world where suffering is stamped out and all these animals are treated with respect, compassion and understanding. For more information about their work click here.

Hand-crafted in Perthshire, the geographical heart of Scotland, this special edition has been created in small batches using natural botanicals, resulting in a quality that can’t be replicated at large scale. It has top notes of Caledonian pinewood followed by the warmth of peppery heather. The result is a fresh, grassy gin with a softly spiced finish.
The suggested serve is with tonic, Mediterranean tonic, lemonade or ginger ale. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary to tap into the herbaceous notes, or a wedge of grapefruit to give the gin a citrus kick.

Have a go:
Muddle a few mint leaves with 25ml Raspberry & Mint Liqueur, 50ml Pusscat Vodka or Zesty Citrus Gin and a dash or two of lemon juice in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake until your hand freezes to the side. Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass and garnish with fresh raspberries and a spring of mint.

Pinewood Conservation Gin
£34.00In collaboration with The National Trust for Scotland (NTS), we have created the wonderfully fresh and floral Pinewood Conservation Gin. Made with botanicals foraged from the wild heart of the Cairngorms, every purchase of Pinewood Conservation Gin supports their efforts to protect the pinewoods of Mar Lodge Estate and restore them to their former glory.
Caledonian pinewood is an iconic and much-loved natural and cultural resource of the Scottish Highlands. Statuesque ‘granny’ pines are scattered through the glens, many over 200 years old. The pinewood supports magnificent species such as pine marten, red squirrel, golden eagle, and the rare and diminutive twinflower.
But this woodland has been through hard times. Exploitation for timber, clearance of trees to create grazing land, and centuries of heavy grazing stifling natural regeneration has resulted in a woodland that is a shadow of its former self. Reduced in extent, fragmented and with an aging and dying population of trees, the future was looking grim.
The National Trust for Scotland is turning this around at Mar Lodge Estate National Nature Reserve, which holds nearly one thousand hectares of Scotland’s Caledonian pinewood. Young naturally seeded pines are now emerging from the heather in and around the forest, along with other species such as birch, rowan and willow. Under the ongoing care of the National Trust for Scotland we are working feverishly to restore the woodland to its former glory.
Pinewood Conservation Gin uses botanicals from plants found on the estate. Bog Myrtle and Wood Sorrel bring floral aromatics to the nose, Birch and Scot’s Pine lend a herbaceous, savoury body, and Blaeberries bring a warming honey-rich sweetness to the taste.
Pinewood Conservation Gin is 40% ABV and is available in 50cl bottles.

35ml Persie Sloe & Plum Gin
15ml lemon juice, freshly squeezed
20ml sugar syrup (or a little less agave syrup)
1 egg white
ProseccoHave a go:
Add the sloe gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and egg white to a cocktail shaker and vigorously dry-shake (without ice) for about 15 seconds. Add 3 or 4 ice cubes and shake again until your hand freezes against the shaker!
